Dear students, we have released the enrollment calendar for the first semester of 2021 (2021/1):

Registration period for regular students:  April 29 to May 02 – online registration through the Graduate Academic Control System ( CAPG ):  www.capg.ufsc.br

Enrollment of students from other UFSC programs: after May 04:  requests should be sent to the e-mail: academico.sipg@contato.ufsc.br

Enrollment in isolated disciplines (people outside UFSC): after May 05: registration  on the Graduate Academic Control System (CAPG): https://capg.sistemas.ufsc.br/inscricao/

Guidelines for enrollment in isolated discipline:

Access the address https://capg.sistemas.ufsc.br/inscricao/

Perform the registration to access the system, if you do not have any previous registration.

On the fill-in screen, select the “master” level. Under “Dedication to the program”, select “partial”. Under “Interest in stock exchange”, select “no”. Do not nominate any advisor. Then upload the documents required to perform the isolated registration, which are:  e-mail copy of the authorization of the teacher responsible for the discipline ,  registration form in isolated discipline , copies of the identity card, CPF and diploma of the undergraduate course or undergraduate school history if you are still studying. Upon availability of vacancies. Enrollments will be confirmed or not by email sent by the secretariat.  Observation: if the file of the enrollment form in isolated discipline does not open, click with the right button and select “open in incognito window”. Or use another browser.

The Laboratory of Bioenergetics and Oxidative Stress (LABOX / UFSC) coordinated by Profa. Dr. Alexandra Latini and the Clinical team coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ramiro Zepeda of the University of Chile recently approved a research project that seeks to improve the understanding of the progression and sequels of the COVID-19 viral infection (ANID – Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo – approximately $ 100,000.00).

The project entitled “Metabolic markers of severity prognosis in patients affected by COVID-19” aims to validate a profile of clinical and biochemical markers based on metabolic function as a quantifiable tool in the course of the disease. We believe that this knowledge will help to reduce the mortality rate associated with COVID-19 and optimize the resources of the public health system. The project involves Graduate students from the Graduate Programs in Biochemistry and Medical Sciences.

At the moment, Ph.D. candidate JENNYFFER SOUZA from the Graduate Program in Biochemistry UFSC is developing the project in the Hospital de Rancagua, Rancagua, Chile. Learn more about the survey at the link below:

The PPGBQA Coordination makes it known that in the period from 09/12/2020 to 19/02/2021, enrollment for the Selection and Admission Process in the Graduate Program in Biochemistry, for the MASTER level is open.

Professor Marcelo Farina was appointed by the Journal Plos Biology among the 2% of the main researchers in his field of study. Dr. Marcelo is a Full Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at UFSC and a Professor in the Graduate Program in Biochemistry at UFSC. He is an Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and has an H-index of 46, with more than 200 international publications and 6400 citations. Congratulations Professor Marcelo! We are very proud!

The Coordination of the Graduate Program in Biochemistry at the Federal University of Santa Catarina states that, for the period from 11/20/2020 to 01/25/2021, applications for the Selection and Admission Process in the Postgraduate Program will be open – Graduation in Biochemistry, at the PhD level.
