Study published by a group of professors from UFSC and UDESC, led by Prof. Dr. Rosely Peralta (Department of Chemistry, UFSC), and with the participation of Professor Dr. Hernán F. Terenzi (Graduate Program in Biochemistry) was on the cover of the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry (April 2021). The work illustrates the application of a new bioinspired complex of dinuclear copper (II), which mimics the function of the enzyme catechol oxidase and also acts as an artificial nuclease, capable of producing DNA fragments  similar to those formed by restriction enzymes, The complex may have several applications as a tool in research and diagnosis. More information can be found in the article by R. A. Peralta et al.  and also in the article produced by Agecom/UFSC.
