Area of Concentration and Lines of Research

Area of Concentration: Biochemistry

The PPGBQA has three lines of research: (1) Molecular and Structural Biology, (2) Biochemical Toxicology and (3) Signal Transduction. The research lines cover several cellular and molecular pathways related to specific biological phenomena, namely redox biology, insect biochemistry, genomics and bioinformatics, molecular and structural biology, cell signaling biochemistry, neurochemistry, neurobiology, mitochondrial biology, molecular microbiology, biochemistry of reproduction, biochemistry of cancer, drug repositioning and new therapeutic targets. The lines interplay with one another, promoting the interaction of the research groups in an interdisciplinary environment.
