The Ph.D. candidate Vânia Aparecida Mareze received the best poster award at the Latin American Bioinorganic Congress (April 2021). The work “Synthesis of a hybrid artificial nuclease: 434 phage repressor linked to a metal complex via cysteine ​​to dehydroalanine conversion followed by aza-Michael addition of an NH2-coordinating ligand ” is part of her thesis and was chosen among 50 national and international studies. The results highlight the obtention of a highly specific hybrid nuclease, which represents the first step towards new artificial DNA cleavage agents.
