Bóris J. C. Stambuk

Molecular Biology
and Yeast Biotechnology Laboratory

Prof. Stambuk holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), a master’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) and a doctoral degree in Biochemistry from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP). He carried out postdoctoral research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL, USA) and at the Department of Genetics at Stanford University (USA).

“His research is focused on microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology of yeasts of industrial and medical interest, aiming to optimize the processes of bakery, brewery, fuel alcohol production, biocatalysis and biorefineries
