PhD in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and post-doctorate in Neurotoxicology at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas in Barcelona, Spain. 

“His line of research is focused on the study of mechanisms related to neuropathological processes, with focus on redox biology, neurotoxicology and neuroprotection”.
