The Coordination of the Graduate Program in Biochemistry (PPGBQA) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina makes it known that, from 06/01/2023 to 07/25/2023, registration for the Selection and Admission Process in the Program, at the level of MASTER. The thesis is part of a central line of research at the PPGBQA that seeks to respond to a demand of extreme importance worldwide, the impact of environmental contaminants on organisms. The thesis evaluated the effect of Bisphenol-A (BPA) on male fertility in animal models (Zebra fish and immature rats). BPA is a monomer that constitutes the basic unit of polymers for the production of epoxy resins and polycarbonate plastic that are used in the manufacture of food utensils and packaging. Studies of the metabolic alterations resulting from the exposure of fish and mammals are essential for understanding the impact of BPA contamination. The results of the thesis demonstrated that BPA impairs the homeostasis of intracellular calcium ions (Ca2+) in the testes, testicular energy metabolism and spermatogenesis, through non-genomic and genomic mechanisms, being useful for a broader view of the effects of this contaminant.

Enrollment period for regular students: 09/02 to 12/02: period for online enrollment in disciplines of the Program itself through the Graduate Academic Control System (CAPG): www.capg.ufsc.br

Enrollment of students from other UFSC programs: as of 02/13: start of enrollment requests for students from other Graduate Programs at UFSC. No term limit. The request must be sent to the e-mail: academico.sipg@contato.ufsc.br

Enrollment in isolated discipline (people from outside UFSC): 02/15, 02/16 and 02/17. Period for requesting enrollment in a separate discipline by the Postgraduate Academic Control System (CAPG).
