Faculty

PPGBQA faculty currently has 21 permanent professors, 1 collaborating professor, and 1 visiting professor. The permanent professors have a multidisciplinary academic background, with degrees in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Oceanography, Veterinary Medicine, Chemistry, and Physical Education. In addition, the faculty has doctoral training in the field of Biochemistry (16), Chemistry (2), Physiology (1), and Neurosciences (1) in the main Universities of Brazil such as UFRGS (8), USP (5), UFSM (3), UFRJ (1), UNICAMP (1) and UFSC (1) and foreign universities such as the University of Montpellier in France (1) and the University of Córdoba in Argentina (1). Among the permanent professors, 18 are CNPq research productivity fellows.

Permanent members

The permanent professors of the PPGBQA integrate the three Lines of Research of the program: a) Biochemical Toxicology, b) Molecular and Structural Biology, and c) Signal Transduction. Although some professors work in more than one line of research, the current distribution of the faculty is constituted as follows:

  1. a) Biochemical Toxicology:Afonso Celso Dias Bainy, Alcir Luiz Dafré, Alexandra Latini, Ariane Zamoner Pacheco de Souza, Eduardo Alves de Almeida, Marcelo Farina, Rozangela Curi Pedrosa.
    b) Molecular and Structural Biology:Alfeu Zanotto Filho, Boris Juan Carlos Ugarte Stambuk, Carlos Peres Silva, Hernán Francisco Terenzi, Guilherme Razzera.
    c) Signal Transduction: Alex Rafacho, Alexandre Pastoris Muller, Ana Lúcia Severo Rodrigues, Ariane Zamoner Pacheco de Souza, Carla Inês Tasca, Fátima Regina Mena Barreto Silva, Joana Gaspar, Manuella P. Kaster, Margarete Dulce Bagatini, Rodrigo Bainy Leal.
